Jay Z Launches Collection With Barneys New York

American rapper Jay Z, real name Shawn Corey Carter, husband of Grammy award singer Beyonce Knowles yesterday launched his limited edition, luxury collection with prestigious store, Barneys New York. The  ’BNY SCC Holiday Collection‘ includes jewelry, hats, tee shirts, and bags.

However reviews from his collection weren’t what he expected. Customers described the collection as ‘lack luster’ and complained about the exorbitant price tags on some of the items. Simple white t-shirts were going for $1000, wool ski masks for about $700 and an alligator-skin coat for a whopping $58,000.

Supportive wife, Beyonce modeled some of the pieces on her Instagram page to promote her the collection. However pricey the BNY SCC items were, there are enough people with the capacity to purchase it, he clearly wasn’t targeting middle class citizens when he set a price tag of two thousand dollars on a bomber jacket!

All the proceeds from the Holiday Collection will be going to charity.
