MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF is the subject of the Victoria & Albert Museum's next Fashion In Motion event. Four free catwalk shows will take place on December 6, featuring highlights from the British label's collections to date.
"We are very pleased to be involved with the V&A's Fashion in Motion series," said design duo Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff. "When approaching every collection or garment, we secretly hope to make something worthy of being seen in a museum, so for us it is an honour to present a show comprised of hand-picked pieces from our favourite collections."
The pair established their brand in 2002 and fast became known for their theatrical, whimsical and intricately made collections. The duo went onto win the Emerging Talent - Ready-to-Wear accolade at the British Fashion Awards in 2010, and unveiled a collaborative collection for Topshop earlier this week.
"Meadham Kirchhoff is known for creating a fantasy world in its collections through beautifully crafted garments and focus on fine detail," said V&A curator Oriole Cullen. "Its shows always contain an element of surprise and wonder, often with a hint of darkness and we are delighted to have the opportunity to bring this experience to V&A audience."
